LeprechaunIrish Weekend

October 9th-10th
10am until 5pm

Discover a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow …

‘There is no day so dull or dismal that it is not an occasion for rejoicing. Eat, drink, laugh and be Irish’ (Old Irish wisdom, Anon).

So why not rejoice in the Tulips this weekend, with fun, music, dancing and Leprechauns! Tesselaar Tulip Festival delights in the ‘greening of the Tulip’, while there is still plenty of colour around. But soon the tractor will be ploughing the fields so it is time to make fun while the Tulips bloom! Top musical entertainment from Braemar and Saoirse, Irish Pipers and dancing.

Entertainment

BraemarBraemar, undoubtedly one of Australia’s best Celtic duos joins forces with Saoirse a vibrant vocal and dance group for a weekend of lilting ballads and jaunty folk songs.

Through the fields hear pipes ‘a callin’ with our Roving Irish Pipers.

Watch the Bilton Accedemy of Irish Dancing. Colourful costumes perform ceili and step dances. Mesmerising entertainment.

Stalls

The Celtic Bakery, Celtmania, Irish Coffee, Guinness and Kilkenny (wouldn't be an Irish weekend without them), Chocolate Junction, The Chilli Factory, Love Nuts … more to be announced.

BraemarFood

Baked Potatoes, Sandwiches, pies, sausage rolls, cakes, Irish biscuits, Poffertjes, Croquettes, Frikendallen, Reifkoek, Gozleme, Chevap Sausages … more to be announced.

So why not do just that, rejoice in the tulips this weekend, one full of fun, music, dancing and Leprechauns!

The weekend is packed with entertainment, stalls and activities. So gather the clan and come along for the craic at Tesselaar Tulip Festival.

Why an Irish Weekend?

To aid in the development of the tulips bulb, all flower heads are mechanically removed. Once all the flower heads are removed, all that remains are the green stems - we've termed this 'the greening of the tulips'. Fear not, the tulips heads are not removed until after the last day of the festival, but what better way to celebrate the (soon to be) 'greening of the tulips' than with a good old Irish party.

“May the lilt of Irish laughter lighten every load. May the mist of Irish magic, Shorten every road … And may all your friends remember, All the favours you are owed!”

An Irish blessing for the weekend full of fun, music, dancing and Leprechauns as we celebrate the ‘greening of the tulip’. Come a celebrate with us.
