The best way to get to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival is to get a group of family and friends together and take a scenic drive through the Dandenong Ranges to the Tesselaar Gardens. The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is located within 60 minutes of Melbourne.

Public Transport

Public transport is an alternative method for getting to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival for people who do not have access to a vehicle. It is important to pre-plan your public transport trip to ensure your colour filled day is hassle free. A public transport trip to the festival may take up to two hours. Instructions are as follows:

  1. Board a Connex Train from Melbourne to Lilydale Station (See the Connex Train websitefor train timetables).
  2. At Lilydale Station catch the "Tesselaar Tulip Festival - U.S Bus lines" chartered shuttle bus. Cost $3 for a return ticket (No Public Transport buses travel from Lilydale station to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival on weekends so we have organised this service especially for you to enjoy the fun of the festival on weekends.)

Monday - Friday

  1. Board a Connex Train from Melbourne to Lilydale Station (Train timetables are available from the Connex Train website).
  2. From Lilydale Station board the Invicta Bus 663 (Invicta Bus 663 Mon-Fri timetable). The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is between the Silvan and Monbulk bus stops, so you need to make sure the bus you catch does infact travel all the way to Monbulk.
  3. Get off the Bus at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival bus stop (our bus stop is before you reach Monbulk so ask the Driver to notify you when you have reached the Tulip Festival)
